The past year has been an amazing journey, with a dog I can most certainly call my best friend.

The most significant win in the past year was winning Reserve Best in Show (All-breeds) under Ms Maribel Sy (Philippines).

In the 14 shows we attended this year (2018), Mika has won 12 Best of Breeds, 4 x Group 1sts, 1 x BISS 3rd and multiple Group placings.

Mika currently stands at number 1 Afghan Hound for 2018 (all systems) and at the time of submission, number 2 Hound (AnimalTalk ratings).

At the Afghan Hound Speciality show earlier this year, Judge Mr. Stefan Boieck (Agha Djari Afghan Hounds - Germany), had the following to say about Mika:

"Stunning condition. Stunning head and expression. Medium long neck, fantastic top line for his age. Would prefer more hipbone. Excellent angulation overall. Excellent chest and fore chest. Moved with style and attitude..."

I dedicate Mika's wins to his breeder, Mrs Sue Mitchell. Words cannot express my gratitude for allowing me to have Mika. He is currently the last Konpara dog being shown.

With a mating planned in the near future and semen to be frozen, I only hope that Mika will be able to make a significant contribution to the improvement of the breed in South Africa.
