His even temperament and sound nature, coupled with his readiness to please, makes him so much more than a spectacular show specimen. At home, he is our beloved pet and very special family member. Carlo favours the couch and bed and under a warm blanket or duvet during winter or cold days. He enjoys giving sloppy kisses and loves long walks, deep muscle massages and peanut butter biscuits, he dislikes bathing and having his teeth brushed. He loves his ouma, Dr Eurika Van Heerden - they have a very special and unique bond and he absolutely loves spending time with her. Carlo started his show career in 2017 as a puppy and proudly racked up 24 Best Puppy awards, thus breaking the record that had stood for 9 years. He went on to win Best Puppy in Show at the Supa 7's Spectacular. Carlo was awarded the Best Staffordshire Bull Terrier Puppy in the country in 2017. He was awarded his championship in 2018 at the age of 18 months, and went on to achieve Grand Champion status in 2019 at the tender age of 2 years old, also awarded his International Champion status the same year. Carlo was the 2nd Top Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the country, the Top Junior, and Top Open Stafford in 2018. In 2019 Carlo was awarded the Top Staffordshire Bull Terrier in South Africa. Carlo remains a true reflection of everything a Staffordshire Bull Terrier stands for: "Traditionally of indomitable courage and tenacity. Highly intelligent and affectionate especially with children." Bold, fearless, and totally reliable, he remains young Abiegail's best friend, loyal companion, and protector. Absolutely none of this would have been at possible if it were not for the many judges who thought so highly of this little man from the very start of his illustrious career in 2017, up to and including 2021.
