At Fleetwind, we are filled to the brim and overflowing with gratitude and emotion. Thunder has finished a difficult showing season at the top of his game, earning KUSA's #2 Show Dog (All-breeds) and #1 Hound.
The owners and handlers of most of the "pandemic" top show dogs (whose showing period had to be seriously adjusted and adapted) competed with - as opposed to against - each other, and shared their jubilation at each other's wins, while vying for the top spots with warm camaraderie and outstanding sportsmanship. This makes the delight of Thunder's win a hundred times more special, and we are optimistically hoping that we will see a lot more of this selfless camaraderie in the show ring going forward. Congratulations to all, and thanks for the exciting ride!
Thunder will be expertly guided (as always) by his talented and sensitive handler and co-owner, Neil, at the Supa 7's Spectacular event, and will also step forward for his award as KUSA Top Hound.
To add to the honour, Thunder's 10-year old sire, MBIS, MBISS, Int.Ch. GCh., KUSA Nat. Pup '13, Elamir Classic Design for Fleetwind "DeNiro" was invited to compete in the Veterans' Stakes at Supa 7's Spectacular.
Sadly, this was not to be.
Among the stillness of watching and waiting, is the pounding heart of love, the awe of admiration, the rumbling thrill of being.... THUNDERSTRUCK!
